March

Wine Tasting Dinner – The first in what we hope will become an annual wine tasting series, this 4-course meal with paired wines was hosted by Dune on Wednesday, March 13th at 6 pm.

May

Annual Mother’s Day Dinner – Benefiting The Marla Ceely Lamb Cancer Travel Fund. This year’s was Friday, May 10th at Faregrounds Restaurant. There were hors d’oeuvres, silent auctions, a 50/50 raffle, door prizes, and more. Call (508) 317-7679 for more information on next year’s event.

June

Annual Dreamcatcher Dinner and Auction – Our major fundraising event held each year in June!  This year’s is June 9th at beautiful Galley Beach. Tickets are ON SALE NOW! For pictures of Dreamcatcher 2012, click here.

Annual Kelly Culkins West Walk for Travel – Benefiting The Marla Ceely Lamb Cancer Travel Fund. Last year’s 5th Annual Walk was held Saturday, June 23rd at Faregrounds Restaurant.

August

Swim Across America’s Annual Nantucket Island Swim – Saturday, August 24th. A fun and inspiring celebration of those we love fighting cancer and the family, friends, and community who support them. Proceeds to be split between PASCON and Nantucket Cottage Hospital. Visit Swim Across America for more information, to register, or to donate.

November

Annual Daffodil Planting – Each year thousands of daffodils are planted in different locations across the island. This year’s planting took place on Saturday, November 17th on the Old South Road bike path across from Amelia Drive.

Annual Tree of Remembrance Service - Held each year at 4 pm on the Sunday before Thanksgiving in the garden of the Jared Coffin House. This year’s was Sunday, November 18th with a reception following at Dune.

December

Nantucket’s Mystery Art Show – Held each year on the Friday of Christmas Stroll weekend at Quidley & Company on Main Street. Choose from a limited number of pieces at $125 on a first-come, first-served basis. Benefits the Marla Ceely Lamb Fund, not Palliative & Supportive Care of Nantucket.

ONGOING 

Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support Group
Held on the last Friday of each month at 1 pm. Offered by Our Island Home Staff at Our Island Home. Please call 508-228-0462 for further information.

CARES Program
A program specifically for people with memory impairment and their care partners. Registration is required. Held on the 3rd Monday of each month from 10:30 to noon at the Nantucket Public Safety Facility. Offered by Alzheimer’s Services of Cape Cod & the Islands. Please call 508-775-5656 for more information.

Coping with Cancer Support Group
Held every other Monday from 1-2:30 pm in our office.

“Time Out” Caregivers’ Support Group
Held on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 1-2:30 pm in our office.
