Adult Community Day Care (ACDC)

Provides a supported day program three days per week.
Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:30am until 2:00pm in Father Griffin Hall at 15 Cherry Street.
Elder Services may provide funding for eligible clients.
Provides regular periods of respite for participants’ families and caregivers.
Designed to enhance the physical, emotional, and social well-being of senior adults, especially those who are socially isolated due to physical or emotional limitations. The staff is trained to help those who may need some assistance in self-care, such as stroke victims, people with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and other age related limitations.

A central source of information and services enabling elders on Nantucket to enhance their quality of life and maintain their independence. Programs address the interests and changing needs of older adults. Whether recently retired and seeking a volunteer opportunity or a senior needing nursing home care, Elder Services provides the access, service, and advocacy needed. Also the federally designated Area Agency on Aging (AAA) and the state designated Aging Services Access Point (ASAP) as well as the Aging and Disability Resource Consortium (ADRC) for Nantucket.

The Homestead

The applicant must be ambulatory and in reasonable good health and capable of participating independently in activities of daily living as the Homestead does not provide nursing care. Your Island Ride

Year-round transportation to persons with disabilities and elders 60 years of age and older through the Nantucket Regional Transit Authority (NRTA). The service operates on an advanced reservation system and is door-to-door. All clients must be certified and determined eligible per ADA guidelines.
