October

A number of events happen annually during Breast Cancer Awareness Month to benefit PASCON and/or the Marla Ceely Lamb Fund. We’ll add events as we hear about them.

24 Hour Run – Usually a Saturday/Sunday in late September or early October. Local athlete and inspiration Jules Embry-Pelrine has run continuously around the island for 24 hours every year since 2013 to raise funds for the Marla Ceely Lamb Fund. An injury kept Jules from running in 2019. In 2018 he ran over Columbus Day weekend in conjunction with the Island Half Marathon. Check Jules’ Facebook page as he sometimes posts info. and details. Help support Jules’ efforts by joining him on a portion of his run (view map), cheering him on when he passes by day and night, and donating to the Marla Ceely Lamb Fund.

Annual Yoga for PASCON – Typically held later in the month, the benefit yoga class was hosted by Nantucket Island Resorts at their White Elephant Village Ballroom (19 N Water St) in 2016 and 2017. A donation-based yoga practice with Caitlin Marcoux sponsored by Nantucket Island Resorts to raise funds in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in support of all island cancer patients.

Play in the Pink Games – a week of Nantucket Whaler sports events typically held the second week of the month. Contact our office, the Nantucket Booster Club, or the Nantucket Whaler Athletic Department for details.
