Annual Dreamcatcher Dinner and Auction – Saturday, June 5th, 2021 – Our major annual fundraising event. The 2020 event was held online. This year’s event will also be online. Donations and underwriting support greatly appreciated during this difficult time.

Swim Across America’s Annual Nantucket Island Swim – July 24th, 2021 – A fun and inspiring celebration of those we love fighting cancer and the family, friends, and community who support them. This event had historically been held in August, but has moved to July in hopes of avoiding jellyfish. Proceeds are divided among PASCON and Nantucket Cottage Hospital. Registration opens in January. All are encouraged to participate. Swim, kayak, volunteer, fundraise, or donate. Kids Splash, 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, 1 mile, and 4 mile options. The 4 mile swim is approximately one week before the main swim and is open to a smaller group with greater fundraising requirements. Contact one of the event co-chairs, Jill Roethke or Jim Pignato, if interested.

A number of events happen annually during Breast Cancer Awareness Month to benefit PASCON and/or the Marla Ceely Lamb Fund. We’ll add events as we hear about them.

24 Hour Run – Usually a Saturday/Sunday in late September or early October. Local athlete and inspiration Jules Embry-Pelrine has run continuously around the island for 24 hours every year from 2013 – 2018 to raise funds for the Marla Ceely Lamb Fund. An injury kept Jules from running in 2019. In 2018 he ran over Columbus Day weekend in conjunction with the Island Half Marathon. Check Jules’ Facebook page as he sometimes posts info. and details. Help support Jules’ efforts by joining him on a portion of his run (view map), cheering him on when he passes by day and night, and donating to the Marla Ceely Lamb Fund.

Annual Yoga for PASCON – This event does not happen every year, but please check back in the fall to see if it is scheduled for 2021. Hosted by Nantucket Island Resorts at their White Elephant Village Ballroom (19 N Water St) in 2016 and 2017. A donation-based yoga practice with Caitlin Marcoux sponsored by Nantucket Island Resorts to raise funds in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in support of all island cancer patients.

Play in the Pink Games – a week of Nantucket Whaler sports events typically held the second week of the month. Contact our office, the Nantucket Booster Club, or the Nantucket Whaler Athletic Department for details.

National Hospice and Palliative Care Month and National Family Caregivers Month are both in November.

Annual Daffodil Planting – Typically held on a Saturday morning in early November. The 2020 planting was at 4 of the new NRTA bus stops along Milestone Road. Each year thousands of daffodils are planted in different locations across the island to honor our volunteers and caregivers who work tirelessly year-round to care for patients and loved ones. Since 2007 PASCON has planted over 75,000 bulbs along Nantucket’s roads and bikepaths. Made possible by Champoux Landscape and J&M Landscape Services. Local landscape companies, students, community groups, and the general public help plant.

Marla Ceely Lamb Fund Annual Fundraiser – Historically held in mid-May or mid-November at Faregrounds Restaurant. Music, silent and live auctions, hors d’oeuvres, and a 50/50 raffle with a $20 suggested donation. The 2020 event was cancelled due to COVID. Call Meredith at (508) 317-7679 for more information on getting involved in the 2021 event.

Annual Tree of Remembrance Service – Sunday, November 21st, 2021 – Held each year on the Sunday before Thanksgiving at 4 pm in the garden of the Jared Coffin House with a reception following at Dune. A special event marking the beginning of the holiday season. Scallop shells are provided to write names of those we wish to remember and are then placed on the tree. This brief but moving interfaith ceremony is a peaceful and special way to memorialize and honor loved ones who have died. All are welcome.

Annual Art Show – Thursday, December 2nd – Saturday, Dec. 4th, 2021. Typically held at Quidley & Company on Main Street, but may be virtual due to COVID. 2020’s Show was on the 32auctions site. Bidding usually opens at noon on Thursday and closes at 3 pm on Saturday. Highest bidders announced at 3 pm Saturday. Hosted by Quidley & Company and sponsored by Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank.
