Annual Dreamcatcher Dinner and Auction – Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the Nantucket Yacht Club – Our major annual fundraising event. 2018 marks the 25th anniversary of the event! 2017 saw a big change with the event moving to the Nantucket Yacht Club. Guests enjoyed the beautiful new location, easy parking, and the delicious food of Executive Chef Chris Freeman. Previously held at lovely Galley Beach.  Cocktails and silent auction begin at 6. Tickets on sale April 1st. Seating is limited so reserve your seats early. If you’re not able to attend, you can still participate by purchasing a Dream Ticket and by bidding on silent auction and live auction items online!


Swim Across America’s Annual Nantucket Island Swim – Saturday, August 25th, 2018 – A fun and inspiring celebration of those we love fighting cancer and the family, friends, and community who support them. Proceeds are divided among PASCON and Nantucket Cottage Hospital. Registration is open. The 2017 swim was a great success, and it’s not too late to contribute. A number of events happen annually during Breast Cancer Awareness Month to benefit PASCON and/or the Marla Ceely Lamb Fund. We’ll add events as we hear about them.

24 Hour Run – On a Friday in the fall, local athlete Jules Embry-Pelrine has run continuously around the island for 24 hours every year since 2013 to raise funds for the Marla Ceely Lamb Fund. Visit Jules’ Facebook page or contact our office for details if you’d like to support Jules’ efforts, to join him on a portion of his run, or just to find his route so you can cheer him on. His 2017 run coincided with the 7th Annual Nantucket Half Marathon. He began at the Lighthouse School at 11 am on Saturday, October 7th and continued on for 24 hours, joining the half marathoners for their race at 8 am Sunday.

Annual Yoga for PASCON – Typically held later in the month, the benefit yoga class has been hosted by Nantucket Island Resorts at their White Elephant Village Ballroom (19 N Water St) for the past two years. A donation-based yoga practice with Caitlin Marcoux sponsored by Nantucket Island Resorts to raise funds in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in support of all island cancer patients. $15 suggested donation. All levels are welcome. Please bring a yoga mat if you have one. Practice will include a flowing yoga practice, seated meditation, and breath work & visualization to promote and restore a deep sense of well-being and community belonging.

National Hospice and Palliative Care Month and National Family Caregivers Month are both in November.

Annual Daffodil Planting – Held on a Saturday in early November. 2017 was on November 11th along the Old South Road bike path near the new Nantucket Meat & Fish Market. Each year thousands of daffodils are planted in different locations across the island to honor our volunteers and caregivers who work tirelessly year-round to care for patients and loved ones. Since 2007 PASCON has planted over 75,000 bulbs along Nantucket’s roads and bikepaths.

Marla Ceely Lamb Fund Annual Fundraiser – Historically a Mother’s Day event in May, 2015 marked the event’s move to November. The 25th Annual was November 10, 2017 at Faregrounds Restaurant and featured music by the Shep Cats, silent and live auctions, hors d’oeuvres, and a 50/50 raffle with a $20 suggested donation. Annual Tree of Remembrance Service – Sunday, November 18th, 2018 – Held each year on the Sunday before Thanksgiving at 4 pm in the garden of the Jared Coffin House with a reception following at Dune. A special event marking the beginning of the holiday season. Scallop shells are provided to write names of those we wish to remember and are then placed on the tree. This brief but moving interfaith ceremony is a peaceful and special way to memorialize and honor loved ones who have died. All are welcome.


Annual Art Show – formerly “Mystery Art Show” – Thursday, November 29th – Saturday, Dec. 1st, 2018 at Quidley & Company on Main Street. Bidding opens at noon on Thursday and closes at 4 pm on Saturday. Highest bidders announced at 4 pm Saturday. Hosted by Quidley & Company and sponsored by Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank with special thanks to Bill and Louise Hourihan, Nantucket Frame Center, and Stop & Shop. New format in 2015. No advance purchase and no lottery tickets. A simple silent auction to benefit both the Marla Ceely Lamb Fund and Palliative & Supportive Care of Nantucket.


Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support Group
Held on the last Friday of each month at 1 pm. Offered by Our Island Home Staff at Our Island Home. Please call 508-228-0462 for further information.

CARES Program
A program specifically for people with memory impairment and their care partners. Registration is required. Held on the 3rd Monday of each month from 10:30 to noon at the Nantucket Public Safety Facility. Offered by Alzheimer’s Services of Cape Cod & the Islands. Please call 508-775-5656 for more information.

Coping with Cancer Support Group
Held every other Monday from 1-2:30 pm in our office.

Grief Support Group
Held on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 1-2:30 pm in our office.

Nantucket Cottage Hospital’s Newborn and Infant Loss Support Group
Held on the second Friday of each month from 5-7 pm in the Founder’s Building at Nantucket Cottage Hospital. Please call the hospital for more information.

“Time Out” Caregivers’ Support Group
Held on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 1-2:30 pm in our office.

Funded by the Palliative & Supportive Care of Nantucket Foundation, the Palliative & Supportive Care Program is operated as a department of the Nantucket Cottage Hospital, which is an affiliate of Massachusetts General Hospital, and a member of Partners HealthCare. Palliative & Supportive Care of Nantucket is a specialized health care program dedicated to providing excellent physical, psychological, social, and spiritual care to persons with life-threatening illness and their families.
